Difference in competition rate between interview and documentary in the comprehensive student selection of 2024

The competition rate for interviews increased, while the competition rate for documents decreased. In the comprehensive student selection, there are also universities that have two types of selection, interviews and documents. These universities include Chung-Ang University, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Seoul National University, Sejong University, and Kwangwoon University. Chung-Ang University CAU Fusion Talent had the most applicants this year with 10,380, followed by Seoul National University (interview) with 9,069 and Chung-Ang University CAU Exploration Talent with 7,700. Generally, the competition rate for interviews increased, while the competition rate for documents decreased. Of course, there were cases where both increased or decreased, but the increase in interviews was greater or the decrease in documents was greater.

The reason for this is that in the interview, even if the document score is relatively low, there is a possibility of reversing the situation in the second-stage selection within the first-stage selection multiple, so it is thought that more applicants were attracted than the document-only evaluation. In addition, since the self-introduction letter was abolished in the comprehensive student selection this year, it is expected that the idea that if only the interview is well prepared, it is possible to overcome the disadvantageous document score will also affect the competition rate. Compared to the previous year, Catholic University (interview) increased by 10.71, Myongji University (interview) by 6.79, Seoul National University (interview) by 6.7, and Chung-Ang University Da Vinci CAU Fusion Talent by 5.71.
